Veritas Federal Credit Union is Seeking Volunteers
Because Veritas is a member-owned institution, we rely on members of our own cooperative community to serve on the Supervisory Committee and Board of Directors. Volunteers safeguard the Credit Union through financially sound decision-making, and guide strategy and policy decisions. While serving on the Board, volunteers may weigh in on many areas including improved technology, compensation plans, branch enhancements, product development, marketing, and improving member satisfaction. Volunteers will encounter many opportunities to learn, develop leadership skills and business acumen, and build a large professional network. Veritas and the Credit Union movement as a whole is a close-knit family of cooperative members, and we rely on each other to improve our financial well-being.
How Veritas FCU Volunteers Serve
Volunteers represent the best interests of Veritas' members. Our volunteers enrich the lives of all the members they represent, and enhance their own leadership, management, and financial skills.
Board of Directors: Board members are elected to three year terms of office by Veritas’s membership base. They set future strategy, develop policies, oversee Veritas’s financial security, review executive progress in achieving goals and objectives, represent the interest of the entire membership, and report to the members at the annual meeting. In addition to attending monthly board meetings, directors have opportunities to receive free training and education on issues important to the credit union and its members and attend learning sessions with other members of the Credit Union community at large.
Supervisory Committee Members: Committee members are appointed by the Veritas Board of Directors and serve a two year term. The Supervisory Committee verifies credit union records, monitors financial controls and procedures, and works with Veritas’ external audit firm. Committee members typically meet on a monthly basis, and have access to free training and education to help them fulfill their role. Refer to the attached Supervisory Committee packet for more information.
