July 13, 1973
On June 4, 1973, eleven Nissan employees filed an Organizational Certificate to form a credit union to serve the employees of Nissan Motor Corporation, USA paid from Carson, California. They received approval and NMC Employees Federal Credit Union was officially chartered on July 13, 1973.

1985
The name was changed from Nissan Motor Corporation Employees Federal Credit Union to Nissan Federal Credit Union. The field of membership expanded to other Nissan affiliated companies.

1989
The charter was amended to include all Nissan employees in the US. NFCU began serving manufacturing employees as well as those at the corporate offices.

August 2006
As Nissan relocated to Nashville, TN, in 2006, Nissan FCU opened an office in the Training Center at the Smyrna, TN, plant, staffed by two employees. To further serve members, service was also established at Bell South in Nashville, and at the Carothers Parkway Nissan facility in Franklin, TN.

November 2006
A branch opened in Canton, MS, to offer services to the employees at the Canton manufacturing facility. The branch and drive-up ATM were conveniently located a short distance from the plant.

April 7, 2009
Nissan FCU officially became Veritas Federal Credit Union. Growth and expanded Field of Membership continued.

The VFCU board committed to a building plan to place a headquarters/branch facility in Smyrna across Nissan Drive from the manufacturing plant.

2020
VFCU broke ground in May 2020 on a new headquarters/branch facility in Smyrna across Nissan Drive from the manufacturing plant.

2021
VFCU opens doors in February 2021 to new Smyrna HQ/branch facility in Smyrna across Nissan Drive from the manufacturing plant.

2022
Smyrna branches are consolidated into one branch at the HQ at 685 Ken Pilkerton Drive. Smyrna Nissan plant branches close as Nissan employees/members migrate to new branch.
